1/15/09

William Wardrop ExhibitExperience the sense of wonder once inspired by various modes of travel at William Wardrop Creations: Man's Imagination and Machines, an upcoming special exhibition at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History February 21 – July 5, 2009.

This unique exhibition features charming and detailed handcrafted models of trains, planes, rocket ships, land craft, and submarines from one of the country's premier professional modelers. The exhibition will also include an activity area where children can try their hand at creating models.

"Sixty of William Wardrop's models will be on display, including a replication of his workshop, where his imagination meets creation," explained Southern Museum Curator Mike Bearrow. "He uses a wide variety of materials, including cardboard and toilet tissue!"
